High Level Work at Eastnor Castle

WallWalkers used their roped access skills to abseil down the outside of the majestic Eastnor Castle at Ledbury

They have installed a safety system to enable the estate’s staff to undertake regular maintenance and cleaning work on the outside of the building.
Up until now any maintenance work, including the cleaning of the Castle’s numerous chimneys, had to be done from the top of very long ladders - and only in settled weather conditions. This can clearly be a hazardous job.
Following the installation of the safety system and training of the estate’s maintenance team by WallWalkers, work will be able to take place safely at anytime and access to all external parts of the building will be possible. The safety system consists of anchor bolts around the castle walls to which ropes can be attached, and with basic abseiling skills and a definite head for heights, the essential work can be carried out by any of the trained staff.
