Union Mill is the largest functioning smock mill in the UK.  As with most windmills, it stands in a prominent exposed position and is subject to the ravages of wind and weather. Wallwalkers carried out a maintenance programme to the exterior of the mill, including work to the cap, the smock and the upper and lower stages as well as the actual sails. Work was carried out with minimum disruption to visitors and neighbouring properties
