Training and background

Wallwalkers technicians mostly come from a climbing and/or outdoor sports background.  Many have achieved a high reputation in their particular field.  To complement their climbing skills, our team leaders have undergone industry training in a variety of building and conservation skills, such as the Society for the Preservation of Ancient Buildings (SPAB) conservation course.

Health and safety

As would be expected working in such a potentially high-risk environment, safety is paramount to Wallwalkers and their operatives. All work is carried out from two ropes, halving the strain on each rope and providing back-up in the unlikely event that one should fail.  Use of ropes and equipment is logged, and they are replaced at specified intervals.  Copies of our Health and Safety and Environmental Policies are available for inspection and, to ensure our compliance with all current legislation we have engaged the services of Myers CDM Co-ordinators to advise on all such matters.
